The Science of Reading provides a roadmap for effective foundational reading instruction that supports all students, but some important adjustments, considerations, and teacher knowledge are required to ensure English learners receive the instruction they need to succeed when learning to read in English. This session will address how the Science of Reading benefits English learners, myths and misconceptions that can derail instruction, and what educators need to know to respond to the needs of young multilingual learners in the literacy classroom.
