With the updated 2022 Colorado Social Studies standards, high school civics classes need to incorporate more aspects of state and local governance, including describing "the role and development of founding documents of Colorado...including the Colorado Constitution" and "analyzing the processes for amending the Constitution of Colorado...and significant changes that have occurred to this document, including the Colorado Bill of Rights." This session will provide lesson ideas and a brainstorm session so teachers can confidently incorporate the Colorado Constitution into their civics curriculum.
